List of LIC Health Insurance Plans:

There are two types of plans in LIC Health Insurance Plans that are listed below:
1) Jeevan Arogya:

Eligible: Principle Insured

Family Floater: Own wife, Mother, Father and Child

Minimum age: 18

Maximum age: 65

Child age: 91 days and maximum: 20 years

The minimum cover-cease age is 80 years, and for children, 25 years.

Surgical benefit sum assured: Rs. 2.5 lakhs to 10 lakhs

There is generally 90-day waiting period and there is no waiting period of accidentals. For any specific disease, there is a specific waiting period of 2 years.

2) Cancer Cover Plan:

Minimum age: 20

Maximum age: 65

It helps with the coverage of early and major-stage cancer.

Basic sum assured: Rupees 15 lakhs to 50 lakhs

What are the benefits of the LIC Health Insurance Plans?

1) HCB (hospitalization cash benefit): non-ICU bed due to fever or normal injury

Limit: 2500/- to 10000/- daily cash benefit

For ICU, the limit is 5000/- to 20000/-

But the condition is that you must be hospitalized for 28 hours.

2) Medical Management Benefit (MBB): hospitalized due to Dengue malaria, etc.

If you choose daily HCB rupees of 3000, then you will get 2.5 times your HCB (7500/-) for diseases like dengue, malaria, and TB.

3) Major surgical benefits (MSB) for more than 263 surgeries

In this case, if your HCB is 2500 rupees, then you will get 100 times more money, which is 2.5 lakhs.

4) Day care procedure benefit (DCPP) -244 surgeries

If you are having surgery, which is just for a single day, then you will get 5 times your HCB.

5) OSB (Other surgical benefit )

Here, you will get 2.5 times your HSB.

Pros & cons of LIC health insurance plans:

Pros:

You will get a slightly lower premium compared to private companies.

Cons:

There is no cashless facility; they provide quick cash features, but only up to 50%, and there is no proper network hospital list.

You have to pay first, and then LIC will provide the benefits.

How to claim for LIC Health Insurance plans:

If there is no accidental or surgical medical case, then generally, LIC has a waiting period of 90 days for the Mediclaim to get processed.


When a person in the family is hospitalized and needs treatment , one of the family members or any relative has to inform the nearest branch of LIC immediately to enable the claim process, and within 30 days, any of the family members need to submit the claim form and medical evidence to the branch.

Prohibition Under LIC Health Insurance Plans

  • If any person (whether he or she is sane or insane) commits suicide within the 12-month time interval of the policy, then they would think of providing only 80% of the claimed premium amount.
  • IF you are suffering from any disease before taking the health insurance, then that disease will be excluded from the health insurance
  • The LIC health insurance plans doesn’t cover the injury due to wars and military operations.
  • The LIC health insurance plans also don’t cover injuries due to the consumption of alcohol or smoking.
  • LIC health insurance doesn’t accept the claim of unapproved medical providers.
  • If any person provide the wrong information during the policy application, then his policy may be rejected during the time of claim.
